The Rajski Ptak 1 are ethereal beings that lives in the nebulae.
They are calm, lonely and very intelligent beings, but can also present times (because they can live thousands of years) of a healthy but urgent curiosity in leaving their havens of peace in the nebulous corners of the cosmos and approach the inhabited places, relying their safety on their immeasurable capacity to volatilize in a cloud of drawing strokes in the sky.
When investigating the gender of a Rajski Ptak or wanting to know their life cycle, or how the population of these individuals is maintained, the plot thickens. There is a popular expression in the Ytich planet that reads: "wonder the gender of a Rajski Ptak" which would mean "wasting time" 4 . Said this, is evident how complicated is the task. If we not even know if they have different genres, is complicated to tell if one decrease or not, or which one carries the evolutionary power.
The few scholars who have tried, classify them according to their hermaphroditism "Ptak hermaphroditism" (a type of hermaphroditism, which to date includes only one species, Rajski Ptak). The process occurs in total solitude and is shrouded in mystery. Experts say that if the Rajski Ptak feel any presence, stops the process (if they notice that the presence does not intend to leave, dust nebula will be used to make him/her go).
Here we reproduce one of the hypothesis: The Rajski Ptak begins to become increasingly immobile, reaches an absolute calm, begins to volatilize and merge with stardust and then disappears. After this, appears from the stellar ashes two beings of Rajski Ptak, which can only be conceived by us (mortals) as father and son (although this may be true or false).
Of course there are many other hypotheses, there are scholars who argue that according to its constitution, Rajski Ptak could be elemental beings as Ignímbrilyn, others support the theory that could be osselias as Azer. Even more, there are others who say that none of these is true. Every so often new hypotheses about the origin of Rajski Ptak arise, but none of them has been confirmed 5 .
In texts and tablets of ancient civilizations is said something about even more spectacular creatures: The Rajski Ptak Ancients (Raj Ptah Antygü). They are represented as gigantic deities.
There is also talk of beings made of photonic particles (light) that venerate these majestic creatures as oracles. Modern historians believe that this is not an accurate view of these beings and have proposed their own hypothesis:
Because all Rajski Ptak value meditation, a Raj Ptah Antygü (Ancient) must be a creature that has reached a state of wisdom and peace (called Askensos by proponents of this theory) that get aware of all beings of their race and the gift of clairvoyance. In this state, the Rajski Ptak Ancients not perish by issues of age and increase in size with the rhythm of the centuries, reaching 3,000 km maximum. These beings made of light almost certainly referring to the race of Lúminei. There are events (planets rid of a Devourer, etc.) that can only be explained by the existence of the Rajski Ptak Ancients. In what follows, they must have attracted the attention of space races before. It is then ignored what is the reason behind these Ancients still being a mystery 6 .
*1: Rajski ptak literally means "bird of paradise" (Paradisaeidae) in Polish language. They refer to a Polish variation of the Zhar Ptitsa. The Rajski Ptak described herein are author's own inspiration. Is a literary license of the author, not folklore.
*2: Terrestrial beings alludes to beings that are on the surface of a planet, have this planet land or not. At no time refers to any planet that may contain in its name the word Earth or derivatives.
*3: undetectable to mortals, but not to superior beings.
*4: Similar to the questions of the inhabitants of Terry Pratchett's Discworld about Great A'Tuin Gender, male or female?. Great A'Tuin is the Giant Star turtle who carries on its back the four elephants that carry the Discworld.
*5: Saying this the narrator tell us that his/her race does not know what is the theory, although this is known for superior races.
*6: The author assumes that if his/her race has not had contact with Raj Ántygü Ptah, the other races have not had contact with them. But Raj Ptah Ántygü have relationships with some races, including Dussians and Daren'Ga.

The Rajski Ptak not intervene in the affairs of the creatures they see (because they do not find any reason could lead them to it), but have been counted exceptions where some Rajski Ptak perceived by other terrestrial beings 2 (normally humanoids) has awarded a riddle or advice to this beings.
Those fortunate beings perceive the Rajski Ptak as a bird very similar to a Phoenix but with an almost transparent thin body, not showing any internal organ. This perception may change depending on environmental conditions through which is perceived the Rajski Ptak, normally atmosphere.
There is a cultural variety of Rajski Ptak that has a way of acting somewhat different regarding to the common Rajski Ptak. The combative Rajski Ptak are beings who enjoy the activity, focusing on protecting the nesting nebulae and another cosmic structures that they believe worthy of it (although its small size makes this task very difficult).
On the other hand they are able to curse an individual who still saw them (an achievement per se) he has belittled.
The Society of the Rajski Ptak is almost impossible to explain because of various reasons. They are ethereal beings, they are undetectable to mortals 3 when they are hidden among interstellar dust and they rarely gather. In addition they can erase their presence from the memories of those who have seen them (a capacity that is strengthened with age).Those fortunate beings perceive the Rajski Ptak as a bird very similar to a Phoenix but with an almost transparent thin body, not showing any internal organ. This perception may change depending on environmental conditions through which is perceived the Rajski Ptak, normally atmosphere.

But this quasi-isolation is broken in one case: "The Ceremony of Knowledge and the Arts" in which Rajski Ptak meet to exchange ramblings, knowledge and discoveries. During this ceremony, the Rajski Ptak also take the opportunity to learn about births and deaths that can perceive mentally as long as happen in the same plane in which they find themselves. The Rajski Ptak communicate with each one with a type of long-range telepathy that allows them to maintain a "psi-chat" with a fellow Rajski Ptak as long as one AU (or Astronomical Unit, equivalent to 150 million km or 93 million miles).
